OK..here is the situation... I am a DTV subscriber. I have the HD package. I lost my signal due to bad dish placement and trees getting their leaves. So the only place I can set mey dish is inside my property line, but the end of the dish, the LNB's, stick into the neighbors yard. This is totoally leagal but the neighbor is being an ass and say the "astetics" are not good.... well I planted the pole when he was gone and tonight I moved the dish. I guess he will bitch, but should I care?..If he bitches I have 2 things for sure that I can bring to the Cities atention; 1) major regrading and retaining walls over 4' that he did not pull a permit on, and 2) a step/deck he had installed with out a permit, not to mention the guy that did it did not due it per code and also did not install proper flashing that will cause water damage and probably carpentrey ant damage and no frost footings so here in Minnesota it will move....

So I guess if he makes it an issue should I call the city on his lack of permits and all, he mentioned I shouldn't go there. I don't care about his friendship and hope maybe it will make the ass move...I owned this house before he bought his and I am on the property line with my house but it was built in 1918 way befoe any property lines. He should have known it might be an issue inthe future.

Yes I am pissed at his attitude and I can afford an attorny if needed, but should I go there or cancel the DTV service...( yeah right)

PS: don't spell check me, its been a long fucking day....

...I think you just tell him to go to hell...
...the only possible issue is whether you would have been required to pull a permit on the dish pole...every municipality is different but I know some that require....the neighbor won't bring it up becuase he's more in the wrong with his wall...the worst is you have to pull out the pole and reinstall, he has to tear down a frickin' wall...don't worry about where your house is in realtion to the property line, my last house was built in 1880 and had all sort of variances and other issues...but all that gets grandfathered in when any planning or zoning stuff gets adopted later in time...I don't see a need for a lawyer because I don't see what you did that put you in the wrong...parts of the dish sticking into his "space" should not matter...trees, plants and other growing things are allowed to impinge on a neighbors space...and here in Michigan you can't cut them without the neighbors permission unless they are a hazard...

Does he have a tree or bushes that extend into your yard? Wouldn't this fall under the same realm? It's not touching his property, just overhanging it. Tell him to F off and if he messes with it, sleep with his wife!!!!!

If you're within your rights, like you say, to put the dish where you did, I'd tell him to go piss up a rope!! Sure he told you, "not to go there", sounds like he has a vested interest in NOT having the code enforcement people near his place.

From what you've said, I'd say you're in the right & he can just go sit & spin!!

This is what's wrong with neighborhoods. The loss of give and take. Neighbors do something that bugs you you let it slide you do things they let it slide.

I'm sure it's all spidy's fault. Living next to him wold be enough to drive everyone insane. :P
